Setting up your Paypal gateway

Before you start, you need to be aware that you cannot use paypal through a personal account. Your account needs to be a premier account or higher to accept payments online through paypal. 

How to check your account type:
Login to PayPal.
On the Summary page under Selling tools, click Seller preferences.

Check your API settings.
*Please note you may not be required to perform this step
Under Selling online, locate API access and click Update
Under NVP/SOAP API integration (Classic) click Manage API credentials
Click Request an API signature
Click Agree and Submit then select Done

Once you have the correct account setup

  1. Login to your PayPal account at www.paypal.com
  2. On the Summary page under Selling tools, click Seller preferences.
  3. Under the Selling online heading click on Website preferences.
  4. Turn Auto Return on.
  5. Set the Return URL to https://www.ivvy.com.au/payment-gateway/pay-pal/pdt
  6. Turn on Payment Data Transfer.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Under the Selling online heading, reselect Website preferences.
  9. In the Payment Data Transfer (optional) section, record the value of the Identity Token.
  10. Click Cancel.
  11. Under the Getting paid and managing my risk heading, select Instant payment notifications.
  12. Click on Choose IPN Settings
  13. Set Notification URL to https://www.ivvy.com.au/payment-gateway/pay-pal/ipn if the Notification URL field is empty.
  14. Enable Receive IPN message.
  15. Click Save.
  16. Log in to your iVvy account.
  17. Go to Settings in the top right hand corner and click Payments > Payment Gateways.
  18. Go to Add Gateway > PayPal.
  19. Fill in the Form. The PayPal ID Token is the token you took note of earlier, and the PayPal Email is the same email you use to login to your PayPal account.
  20. Click Save.

You have now set up your PayPal Gateway in iVvy. You can edit this Gateway by selecting the Gateway and clicking Edit.
