Learn how to group your menu items within a menu
A Menu Item Group is a grouping of items contained within a menu, e.g. Entree, Main and Dessert.
Creating a Menu Item Group
- As a menu group belongs to a menu, firstly a menu must be created or an existing menu edited. See Creating Menus
- On the ‘Items’ tab, click the “Add” Button, then “Add New Group”
- Complete the following
- Name - Name of the Group
- Marketplace or Booking Engine Name - If the external name of the group varies from the internal name
- Minimum Selection - The minimum number of items that should be selected from this group (blank has no restrictions)
- Maximum Selection - The minimum number of items that should be selected from this group (blank has no restrictions)Enter the group’s details on the dialogue
- Serving Time - If the group of items has a default serving time that should be shown on Event Orders
- Once the group has been created, it will list in the items
- To assign an item to the group, simply drag the item to sit indented under the group name
- If an item is sitting at the primary level (i.e. not indented below a group), this item does not belong to a group
- Items can only belong to a group, items cannot be a subset of another item. Attempting to save this configuration will correct any incorrectly associated items to be at the primary level
- Once an item is indented beneath a group, click the “Save Sort Order” button
